Job profiles at Advertising Services

Hi Susann and Tobi!

Our Advertising Services division is OTTO's central marketing unit in the retail media business and thus bundles the offers for onsite and offsite advertising, various offline channels and services. But what are the job profiles in this area? And who works here?

Our Advertising Services teams are cross-functional. For example, product managers, product marketers, project managers, developers, analysts, UX managers and interaction designers work closely together to drive product development in Advertising Services. We would like to introduce two of our colleagues from this area: Hi Susann and Tobi!

Susann, Product Marketeer, Media Products

Hello Susann! Who are you and what do you do at OTTO?

"My name is Susann and I have been with OTTO since 2013. I started as a Marketing Manager and was responsible for marketing the Neckermann brand at OTTO in the Multiple Offer Concepts (MAK). Since August 2021, I've been at Advertising Services as a Product Marketeer, where I'm responsible for marketing the Sponsored Product Ads (SPA) product . This includes creating the product corporate identity, developing the pricing strategy, training employees internally, gathering product feedback, monitoring the competition and much more."

What distinguishes the Advertising Services division for you?

"It's clear that there's a start-up feeling in the Group. A fast-growing area where you have new challenges every day and great people who are fun to work with. It never gets boring and there are still many exciting topics in the future."

What makes your team stand out?

"My colleagues are appreciative, funny and I have a lot of freedom for my tasks. We have fun together and even when things get hectic, we can rely on each other and support each other."

Tobi, Lead Product Manager, Media Products

Hi Tobi! Who are you and what do you do at OTTO?

"My name is Tobi and I've been with OTTO since 2013. I started out in e-commerce. Now I've just moved to Advertising Services and have been Lead Product Manager at Media Products since March. Here, we are currently building up the product organization in order to continuously develop our retail media business and create great products for our partners and customers. As Lead Product Manager, I am responsible for the (further) development of our retail media products for the OTTO platform. My focus is currently on one of our core products: Sponsored Product Ads (SPA). We now have over 3,500 partners on the OTTO platform - and the number is growing - all vying for the attention of our customers. With SPA, we help our partners increase the visibility of their products and boost sales by placing the products to be promoted as prominently as possible in the product approach and purchase decision process in the form of SPA ads and reaching customers with real buying interest."

What distinguishes the Advertising Services division for you?

"With the onboarding of new partners on the OTTO platform, the number of products in the store also increases at the same time. For partners, this means that in a dynamic competitive environment, they have to differentiate their offering from other competitors in order to achieve their goals. Our customers, on the other hand, need to be offered relevant content at the right time in order to serve their individual needs in the best possible way. In addition, customers no longer necessarily start their journey with the familiar search engines, but are increasingly shifting their product search to platforms. On the one hand, this requires an integrative approach that links the individual devices, channels, and touchpoints of our customers in the best possible way. And secondly, intelligent retail media products that fit seamlessly along this entire customer journey. The business potential behind this is huge. It's not without reason that Advertising Services is one of the most important revenue pillars of the OTTO platform."

"In Product, we have the opportunity to actively shape the future with our colleagues and team hoppers and to develop retail media products that our partners and customers love. It's super exciting and diverse. We do it all together with great colleagues in a diverse, agile and trusting environment. Everyone contributes their perspectives and experience, wants to make a difference and drives the topics forward with great cohesion and enthusiasm. That's what makes it really fun! 😊"
