Why did OTTO create the Expert Career?
The digital transformation and the continuous development of our business model require in-depth expertise in a wide range of disciplines. Highly motivated experts are essential for us to meet these requirements. We are convinced that expert careers not only help us to attract and retain the best talent, but also ensure our long-term competitiveness. Our aim is to develop strategically necessary skills, establish knowledge carriers and promote the professional development of our colleagues in a targeted manner.
What does the career path involve?
The Expert Career at OTTO offers you the opportunity to develop beyond the Senior level. With three different levels - Expert, Senior Expert and Principal - the career path allows you to continuously expand your area of responsibility. Your roles as an Expert are clearly defined: You act as a driving force, representative, technical coordinator, multiplier and consultant.
What do the different expert levels mean?
Level 1: Expert
As an Expert, you are a pioneer in the innovation process. You systematically analyze problems, develop creative solutions for complex challenges and are a specialist in your field. As a bridge builder, you promote interdisciplinarity between the individual specialist areas, take professional responsibility for your colleagues and ensure the transfer of knowledge, mainly in your specialist area. In this way, you ensure that OTTO always has its finger on the pulse.
Level 2: Senior Expert
As a Senior Expert, you take on a leading role in your specialist area and work in a defined area with many interfaces. You play a key role in the development of innovative solutions in collaboration with other teams and focus on the practical implementation of projects. Your profound core competence enables you to analyze complex problems and develop new solutions that create real added value for OTTO.
Level 3: Principal
As a Principal, you have broad and in-depth specialist knowledge and embody the vision and creative power of your specialist area. You provide impetus for innovative ideas and implement them at company level. At the same time, you are involved in specialist communities and contribute internally and externally to a high level of knowledge transfer between the company-wide specialist departments, which ultimately benefits the entire company. Your role as the highest technical authority enables you to make far-reaching decisions that have a direct impact on OTTO.
