As a HR Manager, Pascal is responsible for selecting new colleagues in the Digital & Consulting department. In the interview, you can learn more about his career, how he came to OTTO and what he particularly values in the job interview.
I grew up just outside Hanover, started my psychology studies in Dresden, then went to Mexico for an enriching six-month semester abroad and finally landed in Hamburg for my master's degree. My path at OTTO began with an internship and then developed via the station as a working student to my current job in recruiting. In addition to recruiting new colleagues for the Otto Group Holding, I take on responsibility as the contact person for interns and working students in the company.
As a psychologist, I'd like to do HR work for a company that focuses on people. My experience so far shows that this is the case at OTTO and pays off in the interactions in everyday work. Here I always meet colleagues who want to achieve something together, and that constantly releases new energy.
Avoid empty words and standard phrases. I want to get to know you and your uniqueness in the interview, and these statements can't do that. Be honest and share your motivation for the job. Good preparation helps you to present yourself authentically and confidently - so you can avoid the don'ts.
Let me in on the things that aren't on your resume: What drives you, which tasks suit you and what don't you like at all? I want to get to know you as a person, with your rough edges. This also includes your personal development areas. Knowing where you can still grow has nothing to do with weakness.
